With so much of our lives tied to our phones, it only makes sense that we should make a little money for it. Here are some Apps that will pay you for everyday tasks that you are already doing.

Apps that Pay You | Fixing My Finances

1. Pact

I love using the Pact app as an incentive for a healthy lifestyle, and the money is an extra bonus.

Pact is pretty simple, you pledge how many times a week you are going to complete the pact activity and how much you are willing to be penalized for missing an activity. There are three different pacts with activities; working out, logging food in myfitnesspal, and eating vegetables.

Now you might be thinking “how do you make money from this?” Pact uses all the money people paid in penalties that week and divides it up to pay you for each activity you completed. I have found that my average payouts are about 20 to 50 cents per activity. Money from the app can be transferred to your paypal account once you hit $10.

I really enjoy the motivation pact provides me to stay healthy. The motivation is two fold, you don’t want to end up paying a fee for missing an activity and at the same time you want to earn some extra spending money. It’s a win-win!

2. Slidejoy

Slidejoy places an ad on your phone’s lockscreen, and pays you for everyday it is there. You simply swipe to the right to unlock your phone like normal, you don’t even have to click on the ad! While the payout is nothing to quit your day job over, I usually make between $0.10-$0.20 per day. You can redeem the money you earn through paypal or gift cards.

I plan to use the money I make with Slidejoy as spending money on my honeymoon next year. Slidejoy also lets you donate the money you make to charity right from the app!

3. Swagbucks

Swagbucks is a fabulous website and app that lets you earn points for completing activities such as watching videos, taking surveys, checking out new websites, and more. While there are tons of ways to earn money on Swagbucks, for this post I really wanted to highlight how they pay you for things you already do.

Two of my favorite ways to earn Swagbucks is through searches and gift cards. You can search the web right from the Swagbucks website or app with the search box at the top of the page. I use the search feature when I just randomly look things up on my phone throughout the day and now I make money for it! Not every search pays out money but typically you will make 5-40 Swagbucks ($0.05-$0.40) after a few searches.

You can also use Swagbucks for buying gift cards through My Gift Cards Plus. While there are a couple apps that give you cash back on online shopping, getting cash back on gift cards is great for the shopping that you still do in store! Each gift card you buy gives you 100 Swagbucks plus 3-6 Swagbucks per $1 of the gift card depending on the store.

4. Ibotta

Ibotta is another app the I have used quite a lot recently. Ibotta you cashback when you buy their featured products or shop at certain stores. It is super simple to use, just select the offer you want to redeem, and it will direct you to upload your receipt and maybe scan the barcode of the product you bought.

I always check to see what offers there are before I go grocery shopping and I love that I can get cash back on generic everyday buys such as milk and eggs! I typically earn a few dollars every grocery shopping trip for items I was going to buy anyway.

5. Ebates

Ebates is an awesome site/app that gives you cash back for online shopping (and some in store shopping too!). It is super simple to use, just open the app, find the store you want to shop at and click the shop button to be linked to that site!

Ebates offers rebates ranging for 2% all the way to over 20%. They will also run featured stores that change through the week so keep an eye on them if you are going to make a big purchase. You redeem your money either with a quarterly check or through paypal.
